OEKO-TEX Eco passport

The colors used to print all the beautiful motifs on our canvases are certified with the OEKO-TEX Eco Passport.

What is the OEKO-TEX Eco passport?

OEKO-TEX® Eco Passport is a certification that focuses on chemicals and materials used in textile production, with the aim of ensuring that these chemicals are safe both for the environment and for human health. The certification was created to help companies in the textile industry choose and use chemicals that meet strict environmental and health standards.

What is the purpose of the OEKO-TEX® Eco Passport?

The Eco Passport certification aims to identify and approve chemicals that are safe to use in textile production, which can include everything from dyes and detergents to treatments and coatings. The certificate shows that the chemicals used in the production process do not contain dangerous substances and that they will not pose a risk to both the environment and processors in textile production.

What is assessed during the certification?

  1. Health and safety : The chemicals are assessed to ensure that they do not pose any health risk to workers in the production process or to consumers who come into contact with the finished products.
  2. Environmental impact : The certification ensures that the chemicals used do not cause damage to the environment, either during production or after the products have been used and possibly discarded.
  3. Sustainability : Eco Passport promotes the use of chemicals that are more sustainable, i.e. that they have a lower environmental impact and possibly also a lower energy consumption in production.
  4. Legislation and standards : The chemicals must comply with relevant national and international regulations and standards for chemicals, such as REACH (EU chemical legislation) and other environmental and health regulations.

How does the certification work?

  • Manufacturers of chemicals (eg dyestuff and chemical suppliers) apply for OEKO-TEX® Eco Passport certification by submitting details of the chemicals they produce to independent laboratories and experts.
  • Testing : The chemicals are thoroughly tested to ensure that they do not contain hazardous substances and that they are safe to use in textile production.
  • Monitoring and control : The certification requires regular monitoring and updating to ensure that the chemicals continue to meet the required standards.

Who benefits from the OEKO-TEX® Eco Passport?

  • Chemical manufacturers : The certificate helps chemical manufacturers to document that their products are safe and sustainable, making them more attractive to textile manufacturers and brands that want to maintain high standards for health and the environment.
  • Textile manufacturers and brands : By choosing certified chemicals, manufacturers can ensure that they meet the requirements for sustainability and safety in their production. It can also help meet the demands of consumers and authorities on health and environmental impact.
  • Consumers : Eco Passport certified products give consumers confidence that they are made with chemicals that are not harmful to their health or the environment.
